3.  Teaching students to become more efficient listeners/speakers/thinkers is important

4.   Listening, speaking, reading, writing, and thinking are integrated skills

5.   Empowering students is vital

6.   Students can learn from each other

7.  Teaching within the least restrictive environment is mandated

8.   Focus on language within the natural environment affects change

9.   SLPs can effectively impact students when they team-up with teachers and parents

10. Teachers and SLP’s are by definition different

11. SLP’s know language--Teachers know curriculum

12. Teachers and SLP's team together best when they share their individuality and expertise
