TECHNIQUES

          1. Organize Small Groups

          2. Provide verbal/written instructions

          3. Give ample time

          4. Avoid certain kind of language

          5. Use examples (pictures, written, verbal)

          6. Allow time for processing

          7. Repeat instructions

          8. Re-define words and terms

9. Develop a resource file

10. Accompany homework assignments with written instructions

11. Select a classroom buddy

12. Permit tape recorders, calculator computers

13. Develop a system for maintaining organization

14. Schedule time for emotional release and rest

15. Find personnel who are willing to understand and help

16. Plan extracurricular activities

17. Modify and individualize assignments and tests

18. Structure classroom environment

19. Question student to be sure info is clear

                    20. Plan fun learning activities

21. Encourage discussion of problems
