What are the causes?

·        Not recognizing and implementing my learning style:

1.     Visual learner
2.     Mobile learner
3.     Auditory learner
4.     Touchy/Feely learner
5.     Groupie learner
6.     Leave Me Alone learner

·        When I feel like a failure

·        Because I need lots of attention

·        I don’t have words to express my feelings and actions

·        I don’t share well

·        I don’t know how to care

·        I bring with me what I have learned

·        Your expectations are to high

·        You let me Push Your Buttons!

 What are the strategies?

·        Create curriculum that is relevant to children

·        Provide an organized “child friendly” environment

·        Have practices that reflect what we know about children

·        Share soothing skills

·        Avoid judgments with behavior

·        Help child focus on solutions

·        Focus on what you want them to do, not what you don’t want them to do

·        Recognize and provide opportunities for establishing power

·        Create a consistent routine

·        Avoid being a whimp!

·        Allow some risk taking

·        Create an environment of belonging

·        Support the unmet needs

·        Don’t get hooked!

·        Develop a climate of trust
